The Yummy Year Project utilizes food and design to provide meals for The Ebongalethu Educare Center, a preschool / nursery, in Motherwell, South Africa.
The EEC is run by a lovely lady named Gladys Zenani. Each day, the goal is to raise $3.30,which will provide food for the 60 children she takes care of. Monthly updates and photos will be posted on the website.
100% of the donations raised will go towards providing food for the children.
The meals the children receive will help:
1) FIGHT DISEASE
2) INCREASE BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
3) PROMOTE HIGHER LEVELS OF CONCENTRATION IN SCHOOL
Securing food for these children is the first step to building healthy and intelligent minds.
Each year a new food challenge is designed and the goal is accomplish it within a years time while raising funds for The ECC and sharing the recipes here. All dishes are vegan friendly and are all yummy!
You can also find The Yummy Year Project at community events, such as local bake sales and pop-up markets.
The design aspect of YYP focuses on one-of-a-kind pieces for your kitchen and home. YYP’s Etsy shop will be coming soon!
Connecting with the community to help a cause that has become near and dear to my heart is what this project is all about.
